Well this was not just another wedding this was the wedding of HELEN AND PETE, our very good friends and snowboarding buddies. We could not wait to capture their day for them and was looking forward to the challenge of meeting their style brief and trying out some new ideas. This wonderful fun-loving couple definitely do not do ordinary, they love vintage, love to be different and love quirky images that have a very relaxed and natural feel. Hopefully we did it! Blake Hall is situated amid 20 acres of formal gardens and secluded woodland near the pretty town of Ongar, Blake Hall has been a home to the Capel Cure family for over 220 years. The historic setting of Blake Hal, its lovely gardens and its newly refurbished 17th century barns with modern facilities offers a perfect venue for a wedding.
The area outside the barns is an ideal setting for BBQ’s, reception drinks and to enjoy the romantic sunset. The seclusion and privacy of the Hall’s stunning rose gardens, formal lawns and ancient trees provide countless opportunities for wonderful photographs
On Saturday 25th May I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Natalie and Robert at St Germain Church followed by their reception which was held at Blake Hall, Essex. The couples day was blessed with glorious weather and I was excited to see what images we would capture.
Prested Hall is discreetly hidden down a long drive in 75 acres of parkland, just off the A12 between Chelmsford and Colchester. There’s something truly romantic about this part-moated 15th century manor house and its mature trees, tranquil setting, and bridge leading over the moat into the fields beyond. The little gazebo at the end of the bridge offers the perfect backdrop for memorable wedding photos. The reception areas include The Oak Room (an 18th century room with a magnificent fire place and stained glass windows), The Garden Room (a 1930s’ former ballroom), the elegant large Orangery overlooking the moat which is ideal for photo’s. Prested Hall is known for its caring staff, great food (Essex Food & Drinks’ Award 2010 Winner) and relaxed atmosphere.
On Wednesday 25th May 2011 I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a very special couple Jo and Nick. When I first met them both at the venue to discuss their wedding requirements I instantly warmed to them and could tell this was going to be a really wonderful occasion. The couple had been together for over 20 years and finally decided it was time to to tie the knot and marry in a intimate ceremony with close family and friends. Continue reading
Down Hall Hotel is one of England’s most established country house hotels. Located in Hatfield Heath, near Bishop’s Stortford on the Hertfordshire and Essex border. Dating back to 1322, this impressive Italianate mansion is set in 110 acres of surrounding woodland, parkland and landscaped gardens a truly historic setting with luxury interiors and ornate ceilings which make for a stunning wedding venue.

Friern Manor Country House Hotel dates back to circa 1790. In the late 1980′s Friern Manor was transformed into one of the country’s foremost exclusive hotels and was amongst the first properties in England and Wales to benefit from the change in the Marriages Act 1995. Each year the venue plays host to both small, intimate weddings and larger society gatherings. Offering three wedding venues: The Dunton Room, The Old Coaching stables & The South Lawn Conservatory.
The Fennes is a beautiful Manor House situated in 100 acres of tranquil Essex countryside; some parts of the house date back to the 15th Century, however, the majority of the beautiful reception rooms are Georgian with high ceilings and a very spacious feel. I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings at the venue before and find it full of fantastic photo opportunities.
What a way to kick off the wedding photography season; a beautiful venue with an even more beautiful & fun loving couple. Dominique & James – a truly special couple.
Spains Hall Estate is just outside the beautiful village of Finchingfield in Essex; a village that has been in the best part untouched from the 17th Century and could be mistaken for a period drama film set. Spains Hall’s modern stable-conversion has to be one of the best mixes of traditional and contemporary venues I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. A truly romantic, elegant wedding venue with stunning gardens, beautiful quaint & picturesque cottages that are authentically vintage. As a wedding photographer I was spoilt by a veritable feast of photo opportunities, the cottages, the grounds, the two wedding venues both the stables and the main house – beautiful – absolutely stunning.
I have had a CRAZY 48hrs pulling everything together for my first ever Wedding Fayre for this Sunday at Wat Tyler Country Park; its been such a crazy adrenaline filled, sleep deprived apprentice style task that I felt the need to blog about it as somehow we have managed to pull everything together in the last 48hours and I’m sure Sir Alan would hire me (or rather those awesome / fantastic lovely friends. colleagues and new acquaintances that have helped me achieve pulling it all together in such as short time!)
